Ordered GTX580, it's coming this monday.

I plan to overclock it, but not much. The only cooling option i have at the moment is Arctic Cooling Xtreme Plus ( don't ask why it's the only option lol )

Should i get it?

Only get that cooler if you are not satisfied with the performance of the default one, be it through temps or noise. The default cooler on it is pretty good already imo, as it regulates the temps pretty well without any aggravating fan noise.

I know, but i can get only this one. So need to know if the cooler from the first post would at least be better than the stock cooler by 20-30% ?

Read the first post.

For now i can get only the cooler from the first post, nothing else, and at a very, very cheap price. Will i get 30% better cooling with it than stock or not? That is the only problem :)

if you had looked at the msi twin frozr 2 beforehand you would notice that this card has possibly the best air cooling solution for the 580 already built onto it, and its already overclocked to almost the most stable OC available on this card and still runs cooler than stock. if you look on youtube there is a video showing it over the stock and there is around an 18 degree difference between the two. i have to say myself i own that version and have almost no fans in my case at the moment as i am in the middle of a case change, and let me tell you, at full load for over an hour, this card never reaches above 50 degrees. on air cooling, it is an outstanding card overall.

Buy a liquid cooled setup. Can't go wrong. Silent operation and overclocking through the roof.

I got the EVGA GTX 580 and also purchased the same GPU cooler as you, the Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme Plus. Problem was that although EVGA's warranty appears to be mod friendly, the actual hardware is not. I needed to break the warranty seal in order to change the GPU cooler, so I decided not to go ahead with it. Not sure about Asus or MSI though.

But don't forget to get the VR004 set mounting parts for the Accelero Xtreme Plus. They are $7.99 from Arctic Cooling's official website.

congrats on the order change. i think youl be extremely happy with the card and remember you can ridiculously easily overclock the card yourself as well using msi afterburner, possibly the simplest utility to use. oh and a tip when you get the card, overclock the core voltage to 1025 from 1000. makes the card a hell of alot more stable :).
