Questions About 480p. Help Appreciated.

I have a TV capable of 480p which I use for my 360 and was wondering what the equivalent of 480p would be in computer resolution terms? The reason Im asking is because a while back I bought Oblivion for my computer but I didn't get much from the game because of the constant stutter etc. so I was thinking of getting it on my 360 if itwon't look to bad. Also does anyone play Oblivion on an SD or 480p tv and if so how does it look?
