Anyone know if it Impulse Driven is like steam where you have an account and download your games onto as many computers as you want as long as you login like Steam?

Why don't you just go to the website for it and find out? It is all spelled out. To summarize though, it is and it isn't like Steam. It is like steam in that it keeps a list of games you purchased in your account, and provides access to download. It isn't like steam in that a) there is a larger percentage of DRM free games and b) you don't have to be logged into Impulse to play.

I tried looking for the answer on their site but I musta been too stupid to find it. Also can anyone attest to the download times from Impulse?

I actually think Impulse is better than Steam. Steam is great too.

Download rates are good in my experience. I only have few games on there (Demigod which I bought at retail, Gal Civ 2 & expansions, and Sins of a Solar Empire). Really can't complain about Impulse other than I wish it had a bit more selection of games.

Pretty much exactly like Steam, except I think you don't need the client to be open at all times.

Impulse has been great, but it's lacking in selection of games compared to STEAM. This is probably my only complaint. This is slowly changing as Impulse gets more and more popular though. For me, STEAM has been faster with downloads compared to Impulse, but Impulse is certainly fine. My advice would be to download the Impulse client and create an account and browse through it. I think they did a great job with their interface, and they have a pretty decent community.
