read read read. there's lots of info out there. check out tomshardware.com i think there's a lot of info there for builders, plus cpu/gpu comparisons, etc...
First, it definitely helps if you know your hardware. Learn as many terms as possible and know what they are. CPU, GPU, PSU, etc. Also, just dealing with the CPU and GPU alone; AM2, AM2+, LGA 775, etc, PCI, PCI-E x16, AGP 4x, 8x, etc. It may all seem a bit daunting at first, but as you do more research, it gets much easier. And remember, you can always come here for help. And just know that the internet is full of guides that can help you.Spartan8907Also there are all kinds of magizines you can read i suggest you find the one called.Pc building bible 2006,it maybe old but it has all the tech definitions that you need to know about also,use wikipedia,ask.com and google,those will definately help you.
