Questions about my pc/games.

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+,3.10 GHz Performance Rated at 9.00 GHz,3.0 GB,Microsoft Windows XP Professional (Build Service Pack 32600),NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT (GeForce 8800 GT). Ok, theres my specs, i have been realy confused about my games lately. On Systemrequirements, it says i have more than passed recommendation to play fallout 3, so i bought it on steam. I turned the graphics up to high and it lags quit a bit. I have CoD4,Oblivon,CoD:WaW and none of them have ever lagged even on the highest setting, so i was confused when Fallout 3 lagged on not even the highest settings. Is it Steam? because F3 is the only steam game i have purchased and the only one that has lagged. I was thinking about buying buying mass effect off steam, but i am not sure anyone because the graphics look pretty amazing so i think it might lag, but then again, on systemrequirements it says that i should be able to play it to the max...Could someone tell me whats wrong with my stupid computer? thx

Where does steam SAY you can run that game at the highest settings because if it does that is a load of crap. Steam doesn't have anything to do with the graphics BECAUSE IT DOESN'T MAKE THE GAME. Steam is xbox live you can download things off of it, you can hang out with friends, you can chat set up games, etc... Steam is not a game developer. So as I look at F3 recommended requirements it says 8800 GT. The recommended requirements run the game medium to low settings at OK frame rates. Your Cpu is fine and dandy for running it at max because it has little effect on it. To run this game on high at decent frame rates is going to be your 9800 GT at least. Personally 4870 would run the thing great but I am not going to influence you. You obviously did not do any research because. A. I don't own this game. B. I basically typed into google what was your question and the RECOMMENDED system requirements for this bad boy to run. Said flat on the recommended requirements that your needed an 8800gt. With any knowledge of anything about games and that nonsense you easily could have known this. And if you didn't you still could have typed your exact question (I saw a forum post just like this) you would have got your answer.IvanElk

you probably can't run fo3 on max

i run it on max with my 4850 with no problems but 8800GT isn't as good

just turn the graphics down a little

especially view distance and AA

and you can download some mods on the elderscrolls forums that reduce grass and stuff for less lag

fo3 doesn't have that good graphics anyway, so don't worry about it
