Hey, got a few questions;

- Are SSD's worth it? I'm thinking of putting down £130 on a 120GB SSD, but at the same time, I can't help but think that I could just as well put that extra money into upgrading my gfx card (from my currently planned GTX 570 to a 580).

- Would the GTX 580 potentially be overkill? I'm running a 1920x1080 res, and it'll be paired with an i5 2500K.

I've posted my build below, if you've got any suggestions to it in general please let me know.

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K £155
Motherboard: ASrock Z68 Pro3 £94
Gfx card: GTX570/580
SSD: 120GB OCZ Agility III £130 (maybe)
HDD: 1TB Seagate £40
Ram: 8GB Corsair Vengeance £45
CPU Cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro Rev 2. £15
PSU: Corsair TX650M £80
Case: CoolermasterHAF X £134
OS: Win 7 OEM £73
DVD drive: Something standard £15

Put that money on a GTX 580 instead, it's not overkill. I have a 60GB SSD for my OS just because I got it really cheap, but unless you're a sucker for short boot times there isn't any need for it in a gaming machine.

Your new rig looks really good. I would spend the extra money on the GTX 580. It's only 10 to 15% faster than the 570 depending on the game, but its worth it IMO. Also, at this point SSD's aren't really a good choice for mass storage for obvious cost reasons, but a little 60GB one to boot off of has never hurt anyone. I know a guy with a similar system to the one your building who boots in 10 seconds flat with an SSD and 2500k. But there isn't much point beyond that.

Damn, I'm really torn now between the GTX 570 and 580. I could get the SC 570 for the same price as any other normal 570, and not be missing out on too much though, and save some cash for the SSD. So I think I'll go for the 570 + SSD pairing.

Sounds good to me. If you love that fast boot speed than totally go for it. The difference between the 570 and 580 is fairly small all things considered.
