I am sort of unsure...the ipod touch 3rd gen is supposedly a good bit faster than the 2nd gen ipod touch...I have also heard good things about the archos and such. So which should I get?

Personally, I will be "breaking" my ipod touch if I get it, would I be able to download songs directly to another mp3 player?

What I am specifically looking for is just a lot of battery life, a nice screen(I will probably put a few movies on mine) and wifi to simply get on youtube...I would like a hard/flash drive bigger or equal to 32 gbs..thanks in advance for the replies..

You can. There is a Marketplace which you can access on the device.

I love my Zune HD. The battery life is ridiculous. 33 hours of music and 8.5 of video.

I think I would rather get the touch or the archos 5...I REALLY want the Archos 5...but I really want a way to get songs directly onto my archos..if anyone knows a way to..please PM it..guessing it may not be "appropriate"...or if there is a way to get programs onto it...I might just have to wait for the ipod touch 3rd gen to be "broken"..and have a smaller screen..worse resolution...:/

First off, if you want the faster iPod Touch, you'll need to get the 2nd size hard drive (I can't remember the size). The smallest size just gets a price break and none of the new tech. I'm not sure you can "break" the Touch. I've only heard about that for the iPhone. The Zune HD has an OLED screen so it's going to be much better to view movies on it. I'd like to get a Zune myself, but I'm Canadian and MS isn't releasing it up here yet.

You can "break" the touch...but not with the new update yet...and OLED screens mean less battery life...so I would rather have the better resolution :D

The 8gig iPod touch has still got the 2nd Gen 522mhz processor i believe, while the 32 + 64 gig have now got 600mhz (I think) - the same one which is in the iPhone 3GS.

The Zune HD's battery life is actually better than the iPod's. Also, while the resolution may be a few lines lower than the iPod Touch's, the screen is WAY better. The colors are much brighter and the image is crisper. Compare. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PBpIok8j64&hd=1

I'm sorry man, but you obviously know nothing about OLED technology or screen resolution. OLED has true black, which means it actually turns the pixel off, saving battery life. The iPod Touch has more pixels, but less pixels per inch. The ZuneHD has 163ppi while the iPod Touch only has 161ppi, so the Zune actually produces a better image than the iPod Touch. The iPod Touch will look more pixelated while playing the same video a ZuneHD is playing.

I don't think many people are going to notice the difference of two pixels ppi.

Cowon S9

60 hour audio battery life, 11 hour video

amazing EQ settings

lighter than the ipods and zunes

no internet

scratch resistent screen, chrome or TITANIUM plated

OLED screen just like the zune hd

cheaper than the ipod and zune 8gb $180 16gb $200 cant remember what the 32gb sells for

with CLAWS patch you can do almost anything you want in terms of customizing your player.
