Id get it if i were you. It is faster than vista gaming wise, but you wont notice much. On vista 39% of my Ram was being used. with win7 64bit only 28% is being used. Its time to drop XP. Of couse Win7 will be slightly slower than XP preformace wise when it comes to the OS itself (not games). the more advance something gets the more power u need to run it, its a very simple concept.
People greatly exaggerate the difference between windows 7 and Vista. While Windows 7 has a slight edge in terms of performance, it's only a frame or 2 at most.

Yeah a frame or 2 while also having an all around better OS is worth it to me and a lot of people. Duckman5thats what i was thinkin cuase Vista is still a bugy PoS of an OS still after the 2nd service pack least my experince with it. so long as Win7 is stable with less bugs ill pick it up. oh n to answer other guy specs r - c2d @3ghz, 4gb ddr2 800mhz, x-fi extreme gamer , BFG GTX260
Better than vista gaming wise not many if any bugs that will affect your gaming what hardware are you running?gmaster456Actually Vista has better game performance currently, maybe because of more refined driver support.
I've played with Vista and 7 extensively and I'd go with 7. I only have a few complaints about 7 but those are just incompatibilities between me and the new interface so those issues aside 7 is like Vista service pack 3. I don't agree with having to pay full price for an old operating system with some tweaks though. Regardless 7>Vista and 7=Vista too haha.

Yeah, I wish more people would be frank about that. Vista used to do much better than 7 around the RC, now it's about even - but I don't see 7 suddenly jumping ahead in FPS, as there isn't really any underlying architectural reason for it to improve on that front.
I've said it before, 7 isn't worth it if you have Vista, but if you're getting a new computer that comes with it go ahead.X360PS3AMD05
Fail. As far as the operating system goes, 7 is SOOOO much better than Vista! Trust me. If you're doing it solely on gaming performance, then yes, it's not worth it. But as a computer user you have to upgrade.
