i want to install vista with a clean install. is it like istalling XP? boot from the DVD and run setup and format C drive? I also heard it comes with the motherboard drivers and i dont need to install them. I can understand the problem with games, but that will be sorted later. Will i be able to run Office XP and Encarta 2007 premium?

i also hope i wont loose any files in my other drives. The drive in which i will install vista has 25GB.

Since my ADSL modem currently doesnt support Vista, i will run my DSL on my other XP machine and use internet through LAN, i hope that wont cause problems aswell.

I am upgrading to Ultimate Edition

1.) Insert the disc into the DVD drive while in Windows XP 2.) Restart your computer 3.) Press any key to boot from CD 4.) Follow on-screen instructions You can choose which partition you install Vista on.

Yes, use Nvidias NForce drivers, they are the newest ones. They usually dont show up on Asus's site till later. Just make sure they are Vista or use the ones Vista puts on your system for now. Download Creatives drivers too and Nvidias latest video drivers. You can install Vista right from the desktop too if you like. Just put the disc in with XP loaded.

The clean install should only format the partition where you install Windows in.

You need the ones for Nforce 4 Ultra, your link was for 430/450 or whatever. Probally the same, but better safe.
