So, I'm pretty sick and tired of my computer (DualCore Intel Pentium D 915) which can only play a limited amount of games since it only has integrated graphics (Intel GMA 950). I officially want to upgrade my computer, but I have a lot of doubts and questions and how to do so, since I'm not confident that my computer is upgrade friendly, since I don't know if a new PSU and graphics card will actually fit in my case or if there will be overheating issues. The PSU I was thinking about was http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006 and for the graphics card I was considering an Nvidia Geforce 9800. So my questions are basically: 1. How can I know if my computer can handle this upgrade? 2. If it can't is there anything I can do about it? 3. Are there any other graphics cards or PSU's you guys would recommend besides the ones I posted to play modern games? I can post any information you guys may have regarding my computer's specs in order to help determine whether or not my computer can be upgraded.
i wouldnt do it i have a pentium d also a 820 and it is outdated for games you will bottleneck games and you want be happy with the results
this is why im looking for a upgrade and also it depends on what you want to play the minimum system requirements are never close to what they need to be
I'm not too concerned about bottlenecked graphics card performance for now since I'm not THAT interested in high ends like Crysis or The Witcher though it would be nice to play such game at medium to low settings. I was thinking of something along the lines of being able to play games on the orange box and left4dead/left4dead2 at good graphics. I would also like to be able to play starcraft 2 at a decent speed I guess, tough I don't know if the system requirements for that game have been released yet.
