Looks like he's going for speed as it's a Raptor. I'd go with a larger Hitachi as they aren't that much slower and offer close enough speeds.

Personally I wouldn't touch that LCD... And the MB should already come with 2 SATA cables. The HSF looks iffy to me at that price as well, it's almost better to stick with the stock unit unless you spend around $40+

I would personally go for a x1950xt instead of the 8600 gts. Even if you want the DX10, the 8600 will most likely be a poor performer.

Or just got for an 8800 gts (but its more expensive).

You could try a 7900 or 7950 card, but I would google some benchmarks first.

I don't think you will be happy with your 22''(1680x1050) monitor/video card selection.

I actually love my raptor Hdd, especially if you already have a drive for general media. They are fast, and I will always go with a raptor from now on.

- Drop that CPU cooler (go for something cheap from Arctic Cooling)
- Drop the SATA cables, the mobo already has them
- Drop the Raptor HDD. Biggest burning of money if you're not a pro designer.
- Change the GPU to an 8800GTS 320MB.
- Change that PSU to a Corsair HX520W
- Change the mobo to something with an nForce 590/570 chipset.

...Then you're done.

:? that AMD is so cheap that you can't save enough for extra toward a 8800gts. Any intel cheaper could not overclock much faster than the 6000+ to justify voiding the warranties.

www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html has great benchmarks.

Also try www23.tomshardware.com/cpu.html for some cpu benchmarks.

Agreed, I forgot to mention that in my post. I have never used it personally, but curved keyboards drive me crazy. They may be better for people with perfect typing posture, but I like the standard layout more.
