I know lots of you don't care but i still would like to share this with you. I recently had no life at all, I would just come home and play video games for hours. My parents would keep telling me to get off and go outside, but I would just tell them 5 more minutes which would become hours sometimes. I would basically never go out. I lost lots of friends, which i dont even hang out with now for many other reasons. For a couple of weeks now, I was thinking of quitting so i can start a fresh new start and maybe just get a psp or something. Well, farewell all and happy gaming :)

If you're going to quit PC gaming, maybe buy a console? Then you can invite a couple of guys over to your place and play some Wii or something.

If you feel that your gaming habits are having a negative impact on your life, it is your responsibility to handle that. Its great you facing that problem yourself.

Best of luck to you.

PC games are better than friends. They provide you with interesting challenges and stories that you'll never get in real life. People are so dumb on average.

I wouldnt put gaming totally off your schedule mate..... It might be good to game once in awhile when you are not at school, doing hoemwork or studying. If you enjoy gaming more then partying and puking all the time, then just game once in awhile when you have the time. In my opinion gaming is a great thing to keep your mind off of things.

Good luck with the school man!

You have a lot of will and a lot of power, but no willpower whatsoever :)

Anyway, good for you, when you come back from real life - tell us what's it like out there :)

Playing games is fine, as long as you conserve your time wisely. I usually play 10 hours a day, but since i finished most PC games too quick, not counting online games cause they don't end at all, i only play 10 hours a week now.

And stop playing MMO's games or any other online games.

Since you quit gaming, you should smash your computer and videotape it and then go to the library so you can post the video on youtube and send us a link.

Don't know why you will quit all together. Just try to balance your life with games, friends, going outside, etc. You don't have to quit it all together.

As some said above, the key is definitly balance. Though it is easy to lose your balance while gaming.

Meeting people who enjoy gaming could be good too, shared interest and all that.

Besides, pc gaming is way cheaper than getting drunk in college everynight.

I LOL'd

Anyway, I know how you feel man. Sometimes it feels like gaming kinda gets in the way of everything else, and even though you could find a solution just by using some self-control, it feels much easier/better to just quit altogether. Been there, done that I guess you could say. ;) Good luck!

I do believe that is how worm holes are formed. Einstein made somekind of theory about that and something about universal phenomenons where you could see the light of stars millions of light years away because light was bended by the gravity of stars... or some crap like that, I'm not a physicist.

High School blows. Seriously, you aren't missing much even if you are playing games in excess. It's doubtful you will form too many lasting relationships in HS, and you will forget most of the people you knew there not long after you get to college. At best, high school is a time to experiment with different girlfriends and social groups, but I wouldn't take anything you do there too seriously. In any event, if you want more time for a social life, you just need to learn to manage your time better rather than give up something you love entirely.

There won't be much time later in life when you have a job and resposibilities that you can just screw off and play videogames, so enjoy it now while you can. And if anything you'll probably game even more when you get to college, as you'll have far more free time. In my case, college was the first time I had ever experienced high speed internet of any kind (damn I'm getting old), so you better believe I did assloads of online gaming.

I used to be a huge addict when it came to games. I realized I just need to limit myself and now I only play and hour or so every couple weekdays (when my schedule permits) and a little more on weekends.

You could say I used to be addicted to video games. Well actually I didn't play all that much I just love talking about them for some reason. Now for some reason I am just sort of apathetic. I play whatever I want and quit whenever I feel like it even if I don't finish.

well people are giving you alot of d1ck anwsers as you probaly expected haha. some people dont realize some people just really cant deal with these things. its always best to keep your social life way about your gaming. Mainly because gaming is nothing more than something to do in your free time. Good Luck
