Does anyone know what happened to Bullfrog?  Does any company have plans for DKIII?

bullfrog was bought by EA aaages ago, for all intents and purposes, the studio no longer exists

peter molyneux, the head guy at bullfrog, set up lionhead - responsible for black and white and the movies

it's possible that ea will try and make an inhouse/outsourced update to dungeon keeper, or that lionhead will work on dungeon keeper 3 with ea's blessing, or a dungeon keeper style game if ea doesn't want to get onboard (molyneux has a close relationship with ea so it's very possible we might see a lionhead/ea team up for a new dk game) - though there's no real news about anything, and it probably wouldn't be best to hold your breath for it

I loved all of Bullfrog's games back in the day, but there is one game i would love to see re-done by someone who had something to do with the original above all others...

SYNDICATE!

Syndicate Wars had destructable buildings in 1996! Think how good it could be now with current technology!

I started a poll on the EA forums about this, click here:

And another one on Lionhead's Forums:

I doubt EA is going to make a new dungeon keeper. I doubt it very much. Which is too bad because that was an excellent game. Of the Bullfrog titles I know of the most likely one they would make I think would be Theme Park. I think the time period where theme park games were popular may have passed by now but that is the most likely one I bet. EA has a ton of old game licenses I'd love to see made into new games but they have to use their resources for other more importantthings like madden. Not that EA doesn't make good games from time to time but I've never credited them much with taking risks on something like a remake for the old school audience when the kids these days might not connect with it.

Yes Dungeon Keeper and DK2 were definitely well done games. Not perfect but very fun and playable. It's a shame that is hasn't been redone. Another one I think about is Majesty: Fantasy Kingdom.

Unfortunately creativity and EA just do not go well together. They are a money making bottom line company that simply will not take risks on games that are outside a proven formula for making profits. I'm not a EA basher but they are better at refining existing franchises and making money off them than coming out with truely ground breaking games. Even the Sims line has grown so tired from the endless profiteering.

I'd love to see a new Dungeon Keeper game, although I don't think there's enough demand. ( hopefully I'm wrong )

I never played Dungeon Keeper 2, the demo refused to work on my system.. but i still go back and play the original Dungeon Keeper every so often. It was an awesome game back in it's time and it still a unique and awesome game today.

You might also want to try Overlord if you really want a game in the same sort of vien (although the link is purely in spirit in the fact your evil trying to take over the word, and its a 3rd person strategy shooter rather than a RTS really) although I think it would be nice to see a Dungeon Keeper 3.

I still have the original CDs for DK I and II.

Yes, the Syndicate series was good but, hey, have you all forgotten Populous & Populous 2 (Amiga & Atari ST days) by Bullfrog?

These were the original, & some ways still the best,RTS ever!

Yep , I remember Magic Carpet and Syndicate too. DK 1 was awesome, DK2 was not that much good, I Wonder if they will ever revive the old classics, like POP is again as awesome as the old POP.

I have played the overlord , but it is not good enough to be compared with DK.

If you're looking for a new DK you should give Evil Genius a try, it's pretty much DK with an Austin Powers style. It's fun.
