I'm guess that 10 bucks only gives you 30 days. So, about 130 bucks a year.

Yeah I played during the beta one of the reasons why I didn't buy it was it was another Hotkey mmo but a pretty good looking and it reminds to much of wow vanilla questing. But 9.99 I can give 30 more days. Not sure If I would sub though.

Why would you even buy this go downalod ot somewhere and wait for a priavte server and play without paying

Ashatar

Because not everybody likes doing things that are illegal? Just a guess.

P.S. I just checked into the "deal" and it doesn't include ANY game time. So, you'll have to pony up another $15.99 to play the game.

For $10 I would definitely buy it. You have the option to not renew. Try it out for 30 days.

Its been out long enough now, that I bet alot of the original players went back to wow, When I played wow was the talk in chat, everyone was from wow. I quit rift went back to wow, then went back to rift a few months later, people were complaining about lame end game, I have since again went back to wow. Wow is just better and more fun in everyway, given the choice of both games I dont see why anyone would choose rift. It would be more fun to reroll on wow,if you are sick of wow, then to play rift.

Go for it. It's an amazing MMO and you've got 30 days to decide if you want to stick with it or not.

If it included a month subscription, I'd probably give it a go just for fun. But since it'd be another $15 for the month subscription, I'll pass.

Rift technically had a lot going for it, but just no charm. If you're looking for a cheap MMO to play, wait til EVE Online is $5 again.. then get someone to refer the game to you, and you get the 21-day referral, buy the game for $5 and bam. 51 days of gametime for $5. I'm busy with Gods & Heroes at the moment.. Rift is long forgotten :(

Only if you're determined to play the game by yourself. There's always people willing to help others get into the game and get on a roll. I joined one corp that helped me understand all their mining operations, I participated as much as I could and got the same cut as everyone else. Joined another corp where the guy wanted to build up a PvP corp, and paid for all of our "education" as well as disposable ships and fittings during our adventures. The complexities of the game are minimized by the fact that you don't need to know everything at once, and there's always someone willing and eager to help you out if you're actually interested in learning the game.

Alright so what about this ic game currency Ive heard about and your ability to pay for the monthly sub using it after a while? How possible is that and what kind of time commitment are we looking at? Life consuming? Only if you're determined to play the game by yourself. I may have tried it if it included the 30 days.. But I would rather just go back to Everquest 2 or World Of Warcraft.. Where its not only cheaper of $15. But I already have wealth amassed to continue playing or begin a new character with alot of gera.

Don't do it, you either play EVE because you want to have fun or you play it exclusively to afford the game time, 30 days now cost around 400 million even when you have powerful ships and you do high level missions it'll take quite some time. I'm personally waiting for the next expansion I believe it's towards the end of July, because this game is friggin amazing (in a bad way), if there are traces of missions randomly being bugged on the entire internet, I know I'm going to encounter them all in the game, it's unbelievable how broken it's been for me, from the client itself, to patches to the actual game. I had more fun just tagging along on some high level missions with friends to gain some profits than doing appropriate missions for my ships, ,simply because half of the missions I did were bugged.
