I've read plenty of reviews and benchmarks, but I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with this particular setup. I should also mention that I'm not interested in AA. In my opinion, AA is nice at lower resolutions where pixel density isn't very good, but I honestly don't see what difference it makes above, like, 1280x960. May as well leave the stress off the GPU. So, anyone here running an HD 4830 at 1920x1080? Got any advice for an honest-to-goodness cheapskate? :P Thanks much in advance.

I think there is much better cards, if you can spend 150 you can get some incredible cards on Newegg.com
i would opt for a 4870 at least the 1G version would be preferred at that resolution. and don't notice AA i play at 1920x1200 and i can't stand playing without AA looks horrible.
I know the 4850 and 4870 are better cards. Kinda goes without saying. :P It's not really a matter of money. I'm just curious as to how the 4830 performs at 1920x1080. If it performs well enough, then I don't see the need to buy a more powerful card. I don't care much about graphics, I just want to be able to play a few of the bigger titles at reasonably high settings, but I'd like to do it at my monitor's native res (1920x1080). And I like the 4830 because it's not a power hog. So that's pretty much the only card I'm asking about for the moment. I do appreciate the responses though.
I've got one - it's acceptable. All the Source games run maxed out at 1920x1080, as does anything older than a couple of years. The Witcher runs well, too, but chugs a bit in crazier situations - not sure if that's my CPU or the card, though. Crysis will run at 1080p medium/high reasonably well, but is more playable at lower resolutions.

I had a 4830 ran everyting great at 720p but 180p was a differnt story well I sold the card to a freind and got an 4890 and well it destroys every game at 1080p other then crysis is get 4850 if i were you
If you can afford a monitor that can do 19*10 you can afford a better card :?X360PS3AMD05
Monitor is more important than gpu IMHO, so not necessarily. I spent $450 on my monitor and only had $80 to spend on my gpu (got a good deal on a 4850).
