Getting low on space on my back up HDD(wich is a mere 230gb),so I'm wondering if I'd be better

1)Get a 128gb SSD as the main boot and use my two 230gb as back ups

2)Get a 1TB HDD as back up and raid 0 my two 230gb as main boot

Altought, both of my drives are 7200RPM but one has 8mb cache while the other has 16mb(1,2)

Both option would cost me about the same, what do?

I went from 2 500GB HDDs in RAID 0 to a 120GB SSD, never looked back. Just keep your other games on the HDD and keep the one you're playing on the SSD along with your other highly used programs.

I have done both 128 gig ssd in my laptop vs 2x500 gb WD enterprise drives in RAID 0. The SSD is no doubt quicker, by quite a bit. However it's not like life threatening difference lol. It would probably make sense to get 1tb + 120gb ssd.

RAID is unreliable garbage, especially when trying to import a RAID array from a previous installation. Anything goes. You can buy a cheap 40GB SSD and use it in conjunction with SRT using your 250GB drive and then buy a 500-1TB backup drive with the extra money you'd spend on a 128GB SSD. Then at least you'll have the extra space on your main without having to spend an extra $200. If you don't have SRT capability then just do what's been suggested.

Personnaly, the only Raid I trust is Raid 1, and that Raid that you spray on bugs and they die.

Nothing like the speed of an SSD. Once you've tasted it, you can never go back!!!!

Something like this is good enough. Use your 250GB drive as your secondary for storage and games. That's what I use to do until I started using SRT.

Don't know much about RAID 0, but from the bit I've read on wikipedia. I would strongly recommend not using it. While the extra performance seems nice, it seems too unstable to be worth it. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm willing to learn. :)
