Just got a copy of R6V2 for a birthday, but it's not playing nice. When I stick the CD in, it's slow to load the installer, and if I try to open My Computer then I get a freeze (at least temporarily, until I can get rid of it from the task manager... then the entire explorer disappears for a while). When the installer can be bothered showing up, it will complete a fraction of the installation before just... stopping. There's no evidence that the disc is still spinning, and I have to just cancel the installation.

I figured this was a problem with my disc drive - I've been having some wierd trouble with importing and playoing CDs in iTunes. However, I just installed X3, and it worked fine. Is this something to do with R6V2?

it might still be a problem with your disc drive, because r6v2 is newer game, and has different copy protection. I know my dodgey dvd drive has problems reading new games, but older ones work fine.

Okay then, thanks for confirming my suspicions... I didn't actually notice any copy protection at all during the installation, though. Whatever. I'll get the disc drive checked out...

Managed to get around the prolem by installing the game on another computer, but into an external HD. Then just copied the files onto my computer.

i got that for christmas and you might need a better video plugin like i did, or a shader level 3, like i did, etc. look on the back of the case on the bottom is sais system requirements, check and make sure you have all or better than said on case.
