I'm adding a new CPU and motherboard to my computer going for the intel core 2 extreme quad-core qx6700 with a nforce 680i sli motherboard and was looking to add 4gigs of DDR2 Performance SDRAM at 1066MHz but was wondering what company you think provide the best quality ram. since the build sites just list 4 gigs and not the maker.

Corsair, ocz, are good brands. Also since you want a 1:1 ratio for that qx6700, I just used my old pc4300 ram, for a direct 1:1 ratio. And its perfect low timings, so its a waste of money to get super fast ram, since you want a 1:1 ratio. But you can lower is to pc4300 speeds and give it hecka low timings, and it actually does perform better my way. Also if you run an x86 os (32 bit) you cannot use all of that 4 gigs of ram. IT will be subtracted by your video card and possibly soundcard. And xp will automatically lock it at 2.75 gigs. Heres the proof for the 1:1 ratio is best http://www.evga.com/community/messageboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=25883

You are going to have to run windows vista 64 bit then. Which there is less driver support and more combability issues but you can support more than 4 gigs of ram, and for the motherboard. Hit the back psu switch to off. and unplug, now unplug everything from the motherboard, and unscrew it. You will need to tkae your video card out and sound card and other pci devices if you wish to take it out.
