If i get 3GB of RAM should i get Windows XP 32-Bit or should i get Windows Vista 64-bit?

I'll be using a single 9800GTX GPU for about a year. Then im adding the second one.

If you upgrade to windows vista 64 bit it will recognize more than 3 gigs of ram. I know a lot of people are complaining about Vista, but i think with a good computer with at least 2 gigs of RAM it runs fine. Either way, good luck with your decision.

At this point, if you have to buy an OS, I would go with Vista. If you already own XP, Vista is not really worth upgrading to, yet at least.

As long as your PC is powerful enough, Vista is actually pretty good. What will the rest of your specs be.

Well i guess my question is with 32-bit XP it WILL be able to read up to the 3GB of RAM right? And if the cideo cards take away from the RAM then i might aswell upgrade to 4GB of RAM for only $20 more. The only reason why im going with 3GB right now is because it is one stick and the 4GB is four sticks.

It should, XP 32 bit has 4GB worth of address space. That is taken up with you GPU memory and any other memory before system memory. I have seen an XP rig with a 7950 GX2 with 4GB of RAM and it only shoes 2.75GB.

But as a general rule, yeah 3GB will be seen in XP 32.
