I built this PC not even 2 weeks ago and im trying to decide whether to run SLI with another Nvidia GTX 260 or buying a raptor for it since im running a Seagate barracuda 32 mb cache. What would be a better purchase? Im running Crysis on Very high at the moment at 30 fps and hoping to run it around 40+

your best bet for performance upgrade is to go SLI, if you wanted HDD improvment 2 vellociraptors in RAID 0 or a solid state drive are your best bets

Seconding that, hard drive speed will only affect loading times, the fps would be the same. go for sli.

Apparently the mobo i have only supports Crossfire, and not SLI. Sucks bad because now i either have to get a new mobo or buy dual 4890's. Is crossfire any worse than SLI or is it pretty much the same?

Your PC is fine.I think that you shouldn't buy anything yet.

speed of hdds do not affect gaming performance, only loading times. plus a new 7200rpm hdd is faster than the old raptors.

Depends on what games you play. Games like Sims 2 that uses map-changing will benefit with faster HD than another videocard.

30 FPS is pretty good for that card all very high. Stick with what you got and wait for the next round. Crossfire 4890 will get youbetter frames but not worth it if you already have the GTX260. What res do you use?

rumor has it the next round for ATI will be out in July so thats only a month and change away. I would wait and see what is offered. One of the next round cards will equal or surpass a crossfire 4890. So for crysis which is one game I would just play at a lower res until the new cards come out to see. You know though ATI CCC has a feature where when you lower the res the clarity stays the same but the screen size just gets smaller, it looks just as good, its a nice feature. I don't know if Nvidia has this, if Nvidia does I would just use this until the new cards come out. But the 4890 crossfire is a good deal still cause the prices aren't bad and at that 1900 res you will average 35+FPS.
