The CM690 has the option of coming with a 550W power supply, not a 460W one. What, specifically, is the power supply you'll be using?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the configurations that they sell outside of the US. I would get the case without a power supply and buy the Corsair 550VX instead.

They usually bundle really cheap PSUs with cases, he's just wants you to get a PSU that won't flake out on you. By the way I have the CM690, it's an excellent case.

Australia doesn't have that configuration apparently, so you can't get it. I wouldn't run my components off a cheap CM PSU, as they aren't known for their quality. If you want to cheap-out on parts, you'll pay dearly if it's your power supply.

It may be able to run it today, but don't be surprised when components start failing down the road. First your memory will go, then probably your graphics card or your motherboard. Having enough power is important, but having clean, stable power is just as important in the long-term.

We usually recommend about 550W from a good manufacturer for single GPU configurations, it's a good rating to allow some breathing room and some capacity for upgrade. The HD 4850 according to the spec sheet requires at least a 450W PSU, so you should be fine. Do you have any info on that PSU? Manufacturer, or more importantly, the number of amps on the 12 volt rails?
