Going to be getting a Dell Vostro slim with these features. What should I change or is it good as I customized it?

I think the hard drive partition is just for security purposes. If your main drive gets a virus and you need to reinstall windows all your data will still be there (Though it won't be in your registry). So really it's your choice whether you want to get it or not.

Why would he need more ram, name 1 game that uses more than 2 gigs? Unless he is playing 2 games at once, and watching a movie, and playing music...

If you have read the Gamespot hardware performance guides. Not a single game had any change in performance when they increased the ram from 2 gigs to 3 gigs.
