well its gettin close to that time were i buy the parts for my new rig and put um together and i wana say thanks to all the advice i got in here, i'm on like version 5 of the parts that i'm gettin for my rig, and i feel like this is going well. please tell me what you think of what i got here, im still on the fence bout the mobo, but i feel like for the money the processor i got is top notch.

i'm also a little concerned about teh compatability, can anyone confirm the ram and mobo compatibility i have here, i doubt there will be a problem w/ the processor and mobo, but i hear that "Please don't purchase this board with a new AMD processor (Google C3 for a list of the new processors)." but i didnt find much information.

ALSO: please, suggest a good HDD, I hear western digital is good, i want somethin that wont poop out on me after a a few months or somethin.

what i got there is sittin at about 430$, i'll prob get a half a TB hDD for 50$, which is pushin close to 500$, i really dont want to breach that 500 mark tho, i even decided to go with a nice rosewill case for about half the price of the one i had before to put the extra money towards a proecssor, yaknow for the substance over flash lol

looks pretty good, everything should be compatible. If it doesn't work newegg will give you credit or money back, they're pretty good about that. What are you doing about video card though.

the thing about this list i put together, http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=16723268 is that i can save 30$ on a combo wich puts everything on that list (hdd in there now) at $465. is that mobo any good? i really wana get some good gamin on, my card now, with a 4'ish y/o mobo and processor and only 2g of ram and with my hd radeon 4850 can handle some really good games like res 5, assassin's creed n such but i have to turn down shadows n what not, i'm also getting into graphic design soon and wana be able to run maya.

here's the deal's page, the combo thing. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.308218

I still think my suggestion would be worth it. If you can affrod a mobo with 790FX; I'd say get it.

(I'm becoming almost evangelical about that. :?)

Oh, and while we're talking about combos, what do you think of this?

looks good, basically brings the price of that ram down to the $90 range, I think i want to stick with gskill ram tho, friends have had good experience with them, and lots of good reviews on it, and whats the difference between 790X 790FX and i also hear there's GX out there.

for example, whatyou think of this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131366&cm_re=790gx_motherboard-_-13-131-366-_-Product

790FX doesn't have integrated graphics; that allows you more PCI Express lanes. => More bandwidth for your cards. => Better performance in games and its more future-proof.

Onboard Video Chipset = ATI Radeon HD 3300 built-in 128MB DDR3 1333 SidePort Memory

PCI Express 2.0 x16 = 2 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots (single x16 or dual x8 )newegg

See, the FX could do dual x16.

you don't need to; but I'd recommend it. At the end of the day its your decision.

can you tell me the difference between these two processors? same thing, ones 95w the other 125w, the 125 is a black edition and 3.2 GHz, while the 95w is 3.0GHz, anything else, cause if i go w/ the non black edition i can get a combo deal with a mobo, for 50 bucks off
