It it really that common for clerks to check your age while buying a PC game? I've only ever encountered it a few times, and that was always at EB or Gamestop. I never had trouble buying M rated games at your age, but of course that was about 10 years ago (damn I'm getting old). My best advice would be to avoid EB and Gamestop, and go to a big store that doesn't specialize in games (Walmart, Target, Bestbuy, CircuitCity) where noone will ask any questions or really care.
uh, i dont see the problems with you buying a M rated pc game, you say your 16, if you consider yourself not old enough to play these games I feel quite bad for you, Im wondering what are the penalities of a clerk at gamestop or wherever selling a M rated game to a 18 below? If there is such a thing its quite sad, I dont see the problems with children getting M rated games.Xxgood-timesXx
What is your definition of children? If you would let your 9 year old play something like GTA or The Suffering then you would be the "problem" with parents today. (however I think they should lower the age of M to at least 15 or 16)
Also I have worked for GameStop and if you sell a M rated game to someone who is underage it could cost you your job.
If you're 16 I'd reccommend you wait a year if not much longer.
For one thing, people breaking the self-imposed age limits on the games will result in legislation that makes censorship the norm and drives publishers and distributors away from mature games the same way they've been driven away from adults only titles.
M rated games are not made for 16 year old kids to play. They're made for people in their 20s and 30s. If you're not done with high school, let alone college, (and all the partying and substance abuse therein) stay away from computer games until you've graduated at 22.
Why don't you go find a buyer for some malt liquor instead as that is what you're supposed to do at 16 instead of spending your time at a computer.
Hey all, I just wanted to know what would be the best major store to buy a rated M pc game. The reason I'm doing this is because I'm obviously underage, 16 to be exact...What store would be the best to buy a rated M pc game, I heard circuitcity was the best chance..PhantomSC
Before I answer, make sure you read the disclaimer at the bottom.
Here's what you do. Take your ID outta your wallet and just put it in your pocket or leave it in your car. When you buy the game, just hope they don't ask. If they do, be like, "no problem, one second." Take out your wallet and search pointlessly, then be like, "ohhhh, crap. I think I left it at home. Well, I'll have to come back." At that point, they will just put the game behind the counter and wait for you to come back. Instead of coming back, just try another store. Repeat until you get someone who doesn't ask. It's not like they are going to arrest you.
Disclaimer: The above suggestion is for novelty purposes only. Underage gamers should not attempt to purchase rated M games unless they are of legal age. Rated M games corrupt the minds of children and are responsible for most of the worlds problems including:
