OK, I just bought a pair of baracudas from bestbuy...and everything but the back speakers sound great. the back speakers have no bass at all. was wondering if anyone had these headphones and were having the same problem, and if anyone knows weather or not the audio card fixes the problem.

I know, but the front speakers sound normal...the back is pure treble, ear piercing treble.

Check the specs on the headphones. I know the rear speakers have much smaller drivers, which cannot really produce bass. I cannot stress enough, you should return these and get a better brand ;-).

But if you insist, what kind of sound card do you have? If you have an audigy or x-fi, go to the equalizer and turn up the bass levels (low frequencies.) X-fi's can also set the speaker levels individually if you have the THX install wizard included. Other than that, I don't know any other sound cards very well. I don't think any integrated audio chips have any of these features though...
