I got the mamba 3 days ago and i use it with Goliathus Control Alpha (large). The problem is that when i hold the mouse i tend to sometimes lift it just a little on the side. Then the cursor moves in random directions on very very short distances. I think is the laser beacouse if i hold the mouse like...2 mm off the pad it dose the same thing. So is there a way i can make this stop? can i make the laser to not be that sensitive?

The laser on the Mamba's are very very sensitive, I don't think their really is anyway to "slow" it down other then replace the mouse pad with a thicker pad. Only help I can offer really is to try it on different surfaces and see if this helps.

i dont think is the pad. I tryed it on more then one surfaces. This thing happens to me beacouse i tend to lift the mouse a little. Try to hold the mouse just 1-2 mm over a surface and probably you will get the same effect. I had the DiamondBack 3G and i didn't have this problem. I have the latest drivers and all that.

You buy a mouse that advertises it's sensitivity (its great for shooters and the like) then you complain about it. lulzorz

I whouldn't call it complain, the mouse is fine. Its me who is the problem...beacouse i tend to lift it just a little (read first post). Im just asking if there is any way to make the cursor move only when the mouse touches a surface.

That's called lift off distance and will happen with all laser mice as they track using the doppler effect. There isn't any way you can properly solve it though you could try a ghetto fix by increasing the thickness of the mouse fit so it is at the maax lift off distance already and then when you take it off the mat it'll stop tracking quicker. Why exactly do you have to lift off when you have a dpi of 5600?
then replace the mouse pad with a thicker pad. Only help I can offer really is to try it on different surfaces and see if this helps. xXDrPainXx
That won't solve the issue and will make the mouse track worse, laser mice and thick pads don't mix as the depression caused by the mouse messes up the tracking.

I dunno. I guess it's in my blood. I'm doing it since i remeber...

ty for the advice.

One last question. Why with my last mouse (diamondback 3G) didn't give me this problem? it's 3g like the mamba. I tryed it recently just to see if it dose the same thing and it worked perfectly.

you can request a teflon ring to put around the sensor from the razer site. many people have complained about this, and it seems to fix the issue. its in the FAQ section here http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.169418100/parentCategoryID.35208800/categoryId.35210600

I got the mamba too and i was having the same problem as you. I finished by realised that the problem was that i was using it on a dark surface. The mamba being a laser mouse it takes time to adjust. With a white pad all lifting problems i had were solved. :)
