Hey guys,

I've been looking for a good "tactical" shooter to play for both single-player and co-op with a buddy of mine. I'd noticed on Steam that Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is being sold for just $9.99! This seems almost like a steal, but I just wanted to see what some of you think about the game before I hop right into it, since sometimes you never know if a game has tons of bugs or is a bad port, and so forth. So is it definitely worth the $9.99 price tag, or should I go elsewhere for a quick fix of tactical gaming?

Thanks in advance!!

According to PC reviews, the Pc version does have some issues. Although, the game has been out for 2 years now so these problems might have been patched. If it is patched, I might be very interested in this also at $10.

a game that is sold for $9.99 and you're still asking if is worth it? What are you, waiting for it to drop to a dollar? At that price either buy itor don't.

So your telling me that if a game that was complete **** was for $9.99, you would buy? On Topic, the SP was very fun, but the MP has died down a lot. I think there are a couple servers you can find, but probably not a lot.

You don't know much about PC games and their potential problems, do you? For all I know the game could be riddled with bugs and crashes, be a sloppy port with awful controls, and the list goes on.

To everyone else:
Thank you very much for the suggestions and comments. Looks like this one's a GO!

the game is an horrible console port. The mp is probably dead now and for 10$ the sp is just not worth it. For 5$, maybe

It is looking very dated now, but it still one of the best shooters I have ever played. The combat feels really visceral. That said, I played it on a console and I am not sure it would port that well. The game's combat/cover system seems very much designed around using a gamepad to me. Of course, you could always use a pad on a PC to get the original feel. MP is still very much alive on XBL.

I thought it was alright, controls could have felt better. But, for $5 or $10 I paid for it off of NewEgg, I can't really complain.

its fun, not worth full price, but 9.99 is a good deal, helluva deal actually.

singleplayer is amazing fun, as is online coop.

multiplayer is fairly quiet now, though, but since you got a friend, go for it!

I am not a big fan of R6 Vergas series, with $9 I would rather go for R6: Rogue Spear + R6 Raven Shield

It was really buggy when I first bought it. Seems to work fine now though and is actually a very solid shooter.

I bought it for $5 on the steam christmas sale, sunk 35 hours or so into co-op and terrorist hunt (never played versus). Definitely worth the money.

I loved the game when it came out, but I played it again on PC and it's just not as fun as it used to be. I'd say it's still worth $10 though, no doubt. If you've never played the game before, then do it, the SP alone is easily worth it's old price of $20.

I didn't enjoy the game as much as past R6 games. Multiplayer for the PC is dead. When searching for servers I find either empty servers or password required servers with a few players. The design of the levels in R6 Vegas limits the player to linear game play (going from objective A to B without much choice in which path to take in between). Additionally further planning is limited by not permitting the player to decide what weapons/tools your team mates use.
