I used to do a lot of config file editing and modding but i've gotten lazy. I'll only go into the config files now for something specific I can't change in the options menu like FoV or some custom form of Vsync

I did use Nvidia DSR with Rising Storm 2 to help with a lack of good anti-aliasing support which essentially renders the game in 4k and downscales to 1080p.

I don't really do many enhancements unless there is something bothering me. I will go into the config file to disable shit like chromatic aberration or frame rate limits. I also appreciate a good texture pack or shader tweaks that improve image quality. Seriously. WTF is up with all the blur these days?

I use all of the above plus nvidia inspector.

Spent more time modding Skyrim than actually playing it......

not proud of that one.....

In game settings, plus the max amount of DSR I can get away with, unless the game has a good MSAA implementation. I tweak image quality until I end up with around 72 fps (half the refresh of my monitor).

I use graphics mods as well, assuming I have GPU power to spare.

I always disable motion blur, chromatic aberration, lens flare, etc.

@RyviusARC:

When I returned to Skyrim, that's what I did and enjoyed it immensely. Added another aspect to the game's replayability.

It really depends on the game. If it's a game I really like I will do all of the above. This is usually a second playthrough though. I can spend days modding and tweaking elder scrolls since the result is usually worth the effort.

On the first one I will typically only tweak in-game settings since this is how the dev intended the game. If the dev did a bad job I guess sometimes I'll poke around in the files to see if I can get better performance or whatever.
