I feel like lately all the big rts games like the new warhammer and world in conflict have dropped base building and resource gathering, which is something i really enjoy. what is a really good fairly recent RTS that kept these elements?

Yeah, SC 2 will be solid.


WC3, if you like micro and modding, is also great. You simply have no limits with mods.

Try Red Alert 3: Uprising. Funny as hell, and keeps to the classic formula. Oh and it's C&C.

Starcraft is your best bet in the future.

Age of Empires 3 is great. If you don't own AoE:2 though, its a must buy.

C&C3 is a lot better than Red Alert 3, forget about RA3 Uprising...
