I am wondering do you have to buy the game to do the 10 day free trial? Also how muxh space do you need on your computer to download it and will it play on a windows 2000? EverytimeI try downloading the demo it says i don't have enough space so were do i go to check how much space I have left on my computer.

My computer shouldn't even be able to run WoW because of it's lack of memory and what not but I installed it anyways and it works fine. Sure there's some lag, but not enough to keep me away for good. Also, if you're still using Windows 2000, you should seriously think about upgrading to Vista or at least XP. Just an Idea.

No you don't have to buy the game to get the free trial. You can go to worldofwarcraft.com to download the game and get a free trial (although you'll still have to give them a credit card number even for the free trial).

To check how much space is left on your computer (at least on 95, XP, and Vista, can't say about 2000) is to open "My Computer" and right click on your hard drive (most likely C:), then go to properties. It should tell you how much space you have.

Edit: if you decide later that you want to upgrade your trial into a full blown account, you will still have to buy the game (even though you already have it installed) just to get the CD Key. Oh, and if your computer has less than 10 GB free space, I wouldn't recommend downloading the game.

No, operating systems come on CDs. You pop it in, fill out the instructions, and you're set.

I don't get what Archangel was saying though. I never had to put in my credit card number to receive the trial, and when I decided to buy the game, I just set up an account and ran it off the Trial, and it worked perfectly.

I'm not exactly sure if Windows 2000 can run it, but the download is 1 MB in size, and you can download it here.

Well, that 1MB download is just the Blizzard downloader that's used to download the game itself, which is somewhere around 5-6 GB, plus you have to download and install another 1-2 GB worth of patches, so it would easily fill up your computer. Even if it did all barely fit, you don't want your computer that low on space, it won't run well at all.

As far as the credit card thing, I just checked and it looks like they changed it since I made my trial account way back when. You used to have to give a credit card number even for the trial, but you don't anymore.

Just uninstall some stuff on there and free up another GB or 2. I'm sure you got games or programs on there that you don't play anymore that you could get rid of.
