So I'm planning on doing a completely new build around the end of this year and I know its kinda early but i figure the longer I spend researching the better my end result will be. So I'm hoping people here will be able to give me some feedback or suggestions on what Iv currently got. Also any info on any new stuff due to come out which I might be better waiting for. I'm aiming for a total cost of around AUS$1800. Here's what Iv got so far.

CPU: AMD FX-8350  $238

Motherboard: ASUS SABERTOOTH-990FX-R2  $205

RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3  $179 (Im not 100% sure if this RAM is compatible either so any help would be great)

GPU: Haven't really figured out what to get yet, But from the cost of everything so far I have around $700 to spend.

Case: Thermaltake Chaser A31 Mid Tower Black  $98

PSU: Thermaltake Tough Power Gold 750W 80 Plus  $159

HDD/SSD and CPU cooler?

Overkill on RAM, get something cheaper and 8GB.

Try squeeze in an Intel build.

To each his/her own of course, but if this is the result of "research" then better go back to the drawing board.

Sorry, HDD's Iv already got from current system, same with the disc drive. As for a cooler, wasn't sure if I would need anything other then what comes with the cpu. But as I said if you guys have suggestions different then what Iv got there, feel free to let me know. Main reason I'm asking here is so i can get some ideas from others then look into what others recommend.

I would go i5 4670k instead and OC w/ liquid cooler. Notice I have that CPU. http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/446/AMD_FX-Series_FX-8350_vs_Intel_Core_i5_i5-4670K.html ^rerun that result with the i5 at 4GHz. & if you have $700 for a graphics card, look at the gtx 770 or 780. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127746 or you could save money to put elsewhere by getting the 760 or 7970 ghz. Seems that other users here are doing fine with that. Plus you could put them in SLI / Xfire and come out just a bit more expensive than the other graphics cards. I'm guessing you were planning to do this since you were looking at more RAM, bigger mobo, and 750W psu. You generally only need 8GB of RAM: I play skyrim on ultra, 1920x1080, with multiple programs running and only use ~4GB of system RAM. 8GB of the regular Corsair Vengeance @ 1600 MHz should be fine. Also, why do you need a $200 motherboard? & I wouldn't get an ATX mid case. I also didn't like that power supply's reviews. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1fQTK ^ that's what I've gathered. can save $100 by getting the less memory version of the 760 though. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1fQUg.

Thanks for the good reply. Iv just gone over all the things you've got listed there and the best price I could get from local and online retailers I normally buy from, added up to $1900, and that's using the 2gb versions of the gtx760's. Its still close enough to my price range though which is good, however, I'm not too sure about the water cooling as Iv never used it before. And I was picking a mid atx case so that it would fit where Iv got my current computer. Id also prefer not to need to overclock too seeing as Iv not had a whole lot of experience with doing it.

just curious if I got the i5 4670k and overclocked is would a decent fan cooler be enough to keep it at safe temps? also as I said in the previous post, Id preffer to keep the case to a mid atx. Would that cause issue with the heating/airflow?

Hyper 212+ is best bang for buck, mid-tower is fine.

Don't know about the fan cooler. You can find liquid tutorials on youtube though. Mid atx should fit and cool everything, I just prefer more room personally - it's a matter of preference really.
