Reasons 360 Bioshock will score higher than PC version

If past reviews of multi platform games are anything to go by, i'm pretty sure reviewers of Bioshock will find absolutely any silly reason to drop the pc review score. Usually this is done to make people think the consoles are superior, of course all us pc gamers know different.

Just for a little fun i thought i'd start a poll to see what reasons you all think will be used this time. Feel free to add new ones.

Yeah, thisdoes seem to be the most common reason.

With the new rating system, both games will be rated the same unless there is some glaring flaw in one version as opposed to the other one. HOWEVER, this has also proved to not be a big deal, as the 30fps (and sometimes lower) PS3 version of Madden still tied with the 60fps 360 version.

If Gamespot lowers the Bioshock score because of system requirements (like they did with Oblivion), then Gamespot doesn't deserve to review PC games.

By the way, did you really need to bash the 360 in your poll? Was it really necessary?

Well, I don't know, if you look at game stats, one of the main reasons is ther eare less reviews, so I would wait and see. I was actually going to get it on the 360, but since I am getting a new pc, I thought that could be my first game, It will be superior when the mods come out, I can only imagine what they'll be like......

Overall, review scores will be lower for the PC because standards tend to be higher and there are more issues reviews dock marks for.

I'd wager my collectors edition that the two versions will score the same. There's a lot of whining amongst fanboys that PC owners are getting screwed over by 2K, but from what I understand the developers have done a hell of a lot of optimising for both systems.grarap

the whining was because of the fact that 360 demo was announced with no pc demo announced. otherwise almost all pc gamers are very appreciative of 2k and al the work they have put in for the pc version

Itll be knocked down IF its requirements are very high AND dont scale well. Oblivion, for example, deserved to lose few 0.1 points for that. Still a brilliant game, if you can run it well enough...

Not sure if they should drop the score do to system requirements. I remember when PC Gamer reviewed DOOM III. That was a beast when it came out (if you wanted to experience it all) and they didn't knock that down. Gamespot might be another issue though.Ubermensche

lol, yeah that was kinda the point, was meant as a bit of fun. Really wasn't bashing the 360, more poking fun at reviewers of various websites.

See, i disagree with all this losing points because a game requires high specs. Just because a developer targets high spec pc's as there market why should the game lose points? It doesn't make it a worse game, not if its run on the recommended specs. Its like docking a ps3 games score because it wont run on a ps2.

I'n my opinion the pc market is divided into 3 catagories, low, medium and high. If the high end of this market can only play a game then so be it. It should always be pointed out in a review that you need a high spec pc but unless poor optimisation is to blame a game should not lose points.

I think this time they'll be going for a mix of "oh noes, my GF2 can't run it on high!" and "teh PC has higher standards"...

Personally I would not go to Gamespot for reviews their console biased reviews are pretty piss poor, not to mention their actual journalistic talents (if you can call it that), I think theres only 1 PC gamer in all of the Gamespot editorial staff, and thats that asian dude (sorry forgot his name). Besides I gave up on Gamespot for reviews and other stuff a looooong time ago.HuggyBear_86
