My headset died... I've been thinking about getting Corsair Vengeance 1500, is that a good choice?

Beyerdynamic DT 770-PRO.

Awesome headphones. Great for gaming, music and film. I have had mine for two years now, and they still do the job. I bet these will last you a very long time if you treat them good.

get some good quality headphones and an clip-on mic, like the guy suggested above. Or you could get the sennheiser HD429, and use it for gaming and music, works really great.

I just recently purchased the Corsair Vengeance 1500 headset, and to be honest I'm not all that impressed by them. They are super comfortable and the mic is superb, but the sound leaves a lot to be desired.

I have the G930 and they are outstanding, I would recommend them to everyone. Until recently, they broke. And they seem to have a bit of issues with the sound cutting out, and a few bugs with the drivers. Maybe it is because they're wireless that they have these issues, I hear nothing but great things about the G35.

I can only tell you what you should stay away from and that's the Creative Fatal1ty headset, they have awesome sound but they break on you within a year. At least mine did :(

PC Gamer just put out their latest hardware guide. In the low end they endorse the Sennheiser PC 31 ($45) which is not over-the-ear cup style but has decent sound, the one you are considering for midrange stereo sound, and the 7.1 high end option - the Razer Tiamat ($180). I use Astro A40s, with simulated THX surround via the soundcard, myself. They were made for consoles, but they are high quality and comfy.

As long as you avoid Razer products you'll be fine. Razer makes junk products from my experience, and I have bought a lot of their high-end peripherals and ended up returning them the next day for Logitech gear.

LOL Razer makes excellent gaming mice. But to each their own, I guess.

I recommend getting an actual good set of headphones and a decent desktop mic, or a lavalier mic.

yea bud, I had the G930 and it was horrible, it would loose signal every 30 min or so, sometimes every 25 min, and i tried every possible fix, changed my wireless channel, registry fixes and whole buch of other things and it never worked, also G930 uses 40mm Driver which for gaming and movies is **** best wireless headset I've use was Creative Tactic Omega and best wired headset was Sennhiser PC-360 and PC-350. I'm going to get the Corsair Vengance 2000 as soon as it ready for purchase which is about a week...

It is a great deal for the cost from what I hear. I am using the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 which is a mind blowing headset but also costs $150-180 so it may not be in your budget.

Agreed. I've had these headphones for years, but they must be treated well! Keep the hairs from getting caught up in the foam.

Sonny have some real good and cheap headsets that you could check out too, like the SHP 2700.
