if you don't mind paying for the game, but just don't want the monthly fees, try guild wars or guild wars 2 when it comes outstarwarsjunky
I second this. Guild Wars is a very cheap once of payment MMORPG which has a really good story and a range of different character classes. Another really addictive MMO is Runescape. Runescape is a Java based MMO which allows building up of lots of different skills as well as a range of special events that coincide with certain holiday's and is an all round great game.

also, if you buy on steam within the next 2 hours, you can get the guild wars trilogy (includes the first 3 campaigns) for just $20.09. not bad at all, considering i paid $50 each for them.Find other games to play, if you think WoW is repetitive you'll have a big surprise playing free MMOs.i hate wow....too much repetetive!

You can try out Vindictus. Its an "Action" MMORPG. Guild Wars 2 will have some elements of "Action" gameplay and it will have no repetitive grinding.
Yeah sure...
I second champions online. I've been playing it at sliver level for quite a while now I've had a great time though now I'm gonna go gold for free form power sets. Hello Gundam Power Armor :) http://www.champions-online-wiki.com/wiki/Power_Armorguildwars is more of an online rpg though.
if you want storyline and like thats an absolute MUST champions online is pretty boss. if incrdibly repetitive.

Edit: I just wish this game a had the WoW cata questing flow and feel. If it did oh man I think it would trump WoW
And Age of conan is pretty good until level 20 since up until that point I think every quest is voice acted after that no more voice acting :(

That's what marketing does to people. There already was grinding in their gameplay footage (collecting artifacts, killing x number of enemies, I'm sure there's more where that came from). Grinding = RPG[QUOTE="FelipeInside"][QUOTE="Jebus213"]

Grinding = RPGExactly. Grinding=rpg and ever more so grinding=mmo. MMOs are games designed to last hundreds or thousands of hours, thats why a grindless mmo is simply imposible to make. The difference between mmos is simply how they handle the grind, in WoW I see it as a choice for the most part. The leveling is pretty fast and has a nice flow (except for Outlands) and the true grind is something you can choose to do when you reach end game. The worst sort of grind for me is something like Lineage 2 where from the very begining all you do is grind, killing the same mobs in the same spot to finally level to a point where you are not useless.
