hey I was wondering if you could tell me about your gaming laptop if you have one, I'm trying to buy one as well. I'm looking for a laptop because I already have a desktop and this needs to be portable. Would you recommend MSI, Alienware, razer, or Asus. Thanks for your help.

Razer or Alienware only if you have major discount.

There's new gaming laptop from Sager with dual 1080s if you have 4000$ to spend.

Thanks i think Alienware has a 10% discount right now. My budget is around 1500. I could wait for Christmas for better deals. Do they have good laptop deals on black friday? Do you have a laptop persoanlly? Can you tell me how long it has lasted please. I heard they're fragile.

Currently own Lenovo laptop for 5 years, not used daily but I had to replace laptop fan because it died.

I would recommend on Lenovo if you want minor gaming, for more pro gaming it's Asus / MSI most of the time.

Nothing against Alienware or Razer but you pay more for the brand instead of true specs so that's the reason I said - buy those brands only if you have major discount and the price will be equal to Asus / MSI specs.

EDIT: an excellent gaming laptop from Asus - doubt you'll get something in the same price from Razer / Alienware: https://www.amazon.com/GL502VS-DB71-Full%C2%ADHD-Gaming-i7%C2%AD6700HQ-Windows/dp/B01K1INYD0/ref=sr_1_21?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1473530781&sr=1-21&keywords=gaming+laptop

For me it was between the Asus ROG and the ACER PREDATOR. I went with the Predator due to build quality. It is a beast of a machine. You are not paying for slim that for sure.

Rated higher than the ROG too.

@dante1972: hey Dante, thanks for the suggestion. I did look into acer predator it looked awesome. Does the fan work well and does it keep cool? One thing that worried me was that it has a swappable fan to keep temperatures low and cool but from what I read it only keeps temperatures low by one degree.

Hi Predator, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. That laptop is a little out of my price range but I'm taking your advice and not buying Alienware or Razer. It's between Asus, Acer, or MSI. My Desktop right now has a gtx 970 and i would like something a little stronger for my laptop. So am i right in going for a 1070 or 1080? Could I have that and a I7 cpu for under 2000? Thanks!
