Recommend me a game... (I know, generic thread, deal with it...)

So, I will be acquiring fifty dollars tomorrow... I ask you all, what game should I get? Recommend me anything and everything good. I have been thinking about getting either Dragon Age or Bioshock 2, but Dragon Age may cut into my Mass Effect 2 time, and I have qualms about paying full price for Bioshock 2... should I get one of the two regardless? Or should I get something else? All suggestions are appreciated.

I would say Dragon Age:Origins, but if you really had to think about it, it might not be your style. If that's the case, you should get Diplomacy for Sins of a Solar Empire.

The Total War pack is on sale on Steam for a steal if you want an RTS.

How about you finish ME2...meanwhile you keep an eye on Steam deals, maybe by then you'll see a sale/price drop in one of those games.DasVolks

yeah, while SoC and CS were good games, they both had buggy start when they were released, and no one can gurantee that these guys will release non-buggy game this time.

Batman AA definetly (maybe. I liked the demo!), borderlands (already owned/beat), fallout 3 (maybe) and call of juarez 2 (already owned/beat). Also have you palyed avatar? (of course! :P already owned/beat this as well)dakan45

I don't know... I loved the story of the first, particularly some of the deeper philosophical aspects... that was all fascinating and very well done. The gameplay itself though... a little off-putting to me. Truth be told, I will probably end up getting this anyways... so, yeah. Should we play online, I hope it will end up better than our little L4D2 versus excursion... :P

I would say go for the total war mega pack which is like $20ish and any old game you feel like you have missed out on which should be cheap by now.

Another option would be to get Empire for $10 AND DA:O for $40, if you can find it for that price.

Trine is also an excellent side-scroller for $5.

EDIT: Actually scratch empire. It's a buggy mess and you would have to mod it with darth mod for it to even be bearable. Medieval 2 however, is more polished, has better mods, and the battles are more epic as seen here, although the kingdoms expansion is necessary for most of the good mods.

I had issues getting the demo of Total War to start on my PC. Who's to say this wouldn't happen with the full game? Thank you for the advice...

you definitely need to try out dragon age while you still have to drive to do so. such an excellent game.

bioshock 2 I can't justify buying to be honest. especially for 50 dollars.

yep steam is rocking lately, lets see at x-mas i got Stalker soc for 2$, indigo prophecy for 3$ and now i just got total rome war gold and the alexander expansion for 3.39$

this is why pc gaming rocks, i/we will never see deals like this for console games

The Wicther is great. As i said in another thread Batman: Arkham Asylum is only $35 at dicksmith which would leave you $15 for STALKER. I managed to get The Witcher collectors edition for $20 instore at JB. One of the best games at the best price.

BioShock 2 is much better as a shooting people in the face game. And has more interesting level design. As for the story... eh, the three hours I played were a bit clumsy.

But at least it's not SS2 all over again!
