Well I've got a fantabulous list of games you should play:

Doom 3

Quake 4

Far Cry (the original Far Cry)

F.E.A.R (one of my favorite games and a must play)

Gears of War

Also I recommend Quake 2 and Quake 3 Arena which are quite older but still very addictive

you also might want to give Left 4 Dead 2 a try as well.

:D

Didn't say I gave all up on RPG's for now, already thought of Borderlands but I'll need someone to play it with, my friends doesn't seem to be interested in that game at all.

FEAR (1) and Borderlands can be reccomended.

If you end up going with Borderlands, then the secret armory of General knoxx is nearly manditory if you want to get access to the full range (higher level cap, more and better weapons).

Do not worry about having people to play with, I find it to be a generally pretty good community that is helpful, and willing to help. Also there still is alot of new people getting it, it seems, and people starting over.

it also happens to be one of the games with the best humor out this gen, All other games are so busy being gritty and serious, Borderlands however pretty much gives that notion the middle finger (almost litteraly), a game with great attitude, and is interresting asheck... Spent over 210 hours in that game :S The loot aspect is just as horribly addicting as D2 was ^^

But FEAR is pretty much a game one should play, has some of the best gunplay in any FPS, and while tne envioments are relatively dull, it is a very very solid game.

Also you could try Killing Floor, it is quite good, despite how simple it is... It has a great feel, and overall quite funny.

Oh right, already tried Doom 3 at a friends house, just didn't feel appealing at all after playing the old doom games back then. Quake 4, didn't hear that good things about it but it's a maybe. I might give Far Cry a go. F.E.A.R. Forgot to add it to the list, Quake 2 and 3 I actually do have them I just didn't think people played those anymore, Gears of War I actually forgot about that game.. after trying to remind myself to buy it about 3 times, thanks! Left 4 Dead 2 well.. I'dd need someone to play that with aswell, 3 of my friends does have it, but they're not really in to it.

I feel like an ass for slashing down all these helpful suggestions ._.

Lets see. RTS games: Supreme Commander and it's expansion Forged Alliance, the original Dawn of War games (DoW2 wasn't as good), Demigod, Sins of a Solar Empire or Majesty 2. Open World Action Games: Mercenaries 2, Any of the GTA games (Although you already have IV which was the best, if you don't have Episodes from Liberty City, that's a good one too), Mafia or Red Faction: Guerrilla. FPSes: The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, Crysis Warhead, Far Cry (not as good as Crysis, but it's still pretty good), Borderlands, Killing Floor or Unreal Tournament 3. Diablo-ish action-rpgs: Titan Quest, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel (I recommend Sacred more than Titan Quest, it's a lot buggier but a more ambitious game overall). Action games: Beyond good and Evil, Psychonauts, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Devil May Cry 4.

If you buy Gears of War, remember to download the patch for it from the GoW website, because the game literally won't even launch without it.

Maybe you should precise what kind of game you're looking for exactly.

A large list will probably not help you choose.

You haven't listed Metro 2033 and that's definitely worth playing. It's hard as hell (ammo is rare, enemies take like a full clip of ammo to kill each, and the game loves to throw 3-5 enemies at a time at you) which is rare for a game these days. Better yet it's one of the most atmospheric games I've ever played. The way that the game meshes in hallucinations is outstanding and you really have to play the game to see what I mean. As for more games to play, it looks like you've hit most of the modern stuff so it's time to go retro. I see you didn't list the Half-Life expansions (Blue Shift and Opposing Force) and those are definitely worth picking up (although OS is easily the superior game of the two). Both can be had for a few bucks each off of Steam. System Shock 2 is a classic but alas it can be very difficult to get running on modern systems so pick it up at your own risk. If you're willing to deal with some hassles in setup you can always check out the classic 90's FPS's like Duke Nukem 3D and Doom. Adventure games are good to pick up as well and used to be the most popular genre on PC before FPS's took over. Any of the LucasArts adventure games are gold, but Grim Fandango is probably the cream of the crop for both LA and the genre as a whole (although also check out Full Throttle and Day of the Tentacle). Some other adventure games worth looking into are The Longest Journey and Indigo Prophecy (the only other game Quantic Dream of "Heavy Rain" fame has made). I see you like RTS's so Age of Empires II and III would probably be right up your alley. AoE2 seems to be widely agreed upon to be the superior game in the series, but AoE3 is a solid game as well. And this should go without saying, but if you're an RTS fan and haven't played Starcraft yet, well...you need to. And while it isn't an RTS but rather a TBS, an old game called "Alpha Centuari" will get you hooked on it (think "Civillization in space"). Try to track down the expansion for it (Alien Crossfire) if you can but it's unlikely you'll be able to get a legit copy for a reasonable price since it's a rather rare game. Finally, I'll recommend the SimCity series, especially SimCity 4 which is by far the deepest game in the series. Some people will tell you SC2K or SC3K was better, but I can't go back to the past SC games after getting used to the incredible amount of micromanagement and building options available in SC4.

Just a few that I play still and enjoy quite a bit

RPG- Drakensang- not high quality graphically but very decent rpg.

FPS- Borderlands- agree with earlier post

If you have a decent amount of music on your pc then I also would recommend playing Beat Hazard- kind of reminds me of an updated asteriods that goes with your music. You might only play it an hour or so at a time, but it's a good get away from the usual.

Another music game is Audiosurf. It's more of a competitive interactive visualizer for your music (if that makes any sense) more than it is an actual rhythm game, but I've managed to sink way more time into it than I thought I would. I think it's normally $10 on Steam unless you can get it on sale (I got my copy for $2 during one of the weekend specials).

I will also recommend Quake 4, not sure what it was about that game but I liked it. I think you should check out Sins of a Solar empire it is completely different from the other strategy games you have played. You should also look into Supreme commander. You haven't said anything about racing games but I thoroughly enjoyed Grid and DiRT 2. Also Trackmania is free and could give you a few hours of fun. Or maybe you could get into an addictive city building game like Sim City 4. I haven't played Anno 1404 (Dawn of Discovery) but I have heard good things from everyone that played it.

Edit: Also Titan Quest is a Diablo 2 clone you should play.

If you haven't COMPLETELY given up on RPG games I'd definitely suggest Morrowind and Oblivion. Very terrific, opened ended games with 100s of hours of gameplay a piece.
