My laptop 250GB hard drive is about finished. I could delete items but I thought having an external hard drive for backup and as well as storage would be nice.

I would like to know your opinions on external hard drives with decent prices. The price does not matter as long as I see myself satisfied and happy with the purchase. I like to pay for something and think it was worth it. I don't see myself storing anything over 500GB or anywhere close to that. I just want a good external hard drive to feel pleased about, something that could come in handy in a couple of years or so.

Your help shall be greatly appreciated.

One of the external hard drive is Iomega eGo 500GB USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive which includes drop guard feature for travel environments, light in weight and also does not requires any external power supply. Compared to other drives it looks compact and also good looking device.

I've used a 1TB Western Digital External for going on 6 years now. Works great.

You could always buy a new internal drive that's bigger and clone your old one to it.

If you buy a good drive your laptop should be faster too.
