Any Total War game. I recommend Medieval 2 Total War and install the Third Age mod.

I'd recommend starting with the original. Unless you get the collection or something that includes everything. But the expansions, especially the last one, aren't that great.

Get the expansions afterwards, if you feel like the game is unfinished. To be honest though, I liked medieval 2 total war alot more, but that's just because I prefer the setting. If you are into WW2, go for company of heroes. If you are into giant robots and futuristic war machines tearing the **** out of each other go for Supreme Commander, and if you are into older warfare go for medieval 2 total war.

To add to that, skip Empire Total War. Medieval TW 2 is the better game. Though Napolean might be good but we'll see.

I disagree. Empire is great.

RTS for killing time, I recommend ANNO 1404... I often play this game 8 hours straight (no drinking, no peep) this game make your day 12 hours a day not 24 hours... If you're a busy person, I'm not recommend it...

Supreme Commander

Probably the best RTS experience. You need good PC to run it tho.

I am also a big fan of the Total War Series. I think they are the best.
