I currently use a Steelseries Ikari Optical and it has served me well for the short time I've had it but now the Left click button is randomly double clicking and its very annoying. In firefox, I click a tab to close it and an "untitled" tab pops up. I click a song in itunes just to highlight it and it starts playing instead. I need some recommendations for some good gaming mice. im leaning towards optical mice because I hear that lazer mice don't handle twitch gaming well, but if it's not true and they work well in that area then by all means show me some good lazer mice as well. Cost is an issue. I want a performer that doesn't break the bank (stay away Razer Mamba). I want a high amount of dpi with a dpi switch. Also, if it works with my Steelseries Qck heavy/mass, that's a plus. And, my OS is vista 64 bit so hopefully the drivers work for me. Plus, I like to rest my fingers on the mouse while gaming but if the mouse is big enough, I'll palm it during regular computer use.

I have the Logitech G9, and it's by far, the best mouse I've ever used.

G500 for a cheap mouse, for something higher end the Mionix Naos 5000. The twitch problems with laser have pretty much disappeared, the IPS and acceleration are higher than opticals now. They won't work with the QcK mass so well as it's a thick soft pad, laser trackers use the doppler effect and so are relient on the surface being flat so the dip in the surface caused by preasure on the mouse can effect the tracking. If you wnat a hard pad of comparitive size to the QcK heavy then look at the QPad HeatON, it's cheap but i think it's your only option at that size or you could go for a thin soft pad like the QcK+ or a slightly smaller pad.

the razer lachesis is a great mouse if your a CLAW GRIP user( I'm hybrid claw/fingertip so i switch between the too and it works good for that as well) once you get used to the shape its an awesome mouse that feels very smooth and precise. Since your a palm user though you should stay away from the lachesis the razer death adder has a more traditional mouse shape and would be best from the razer side or you can go with one of the logitech mice people have recommended.

I placed my order for the G500. If my mousepad surface gives me issues I will buy a new one. What are some great mousepads for the g500?
