Recommendations needed, finally bored of AOEIII

I'd welcome any recommendations on alternatives to AOEIII. Ideally any real time strat with resource collection and city building and ultimately crushing some enemy. thx.

You should try Empire Earth. May be a little old but really good. And also if I remember correctly, Star Wars: Empire at War had resource collecting.

EDIT: How could I have forgotten, also try Warcraft III and Starcraft. :)

Im a HUGE fan of AOE series. After I was done with AO3 I went to Dawn Of Discovery and Tropico3, not the same type of games, but still very good. Got me hooked just like AOE games did.

Man I don't think I'll ever get tired of AoE II

Try warcraft 3. It has an RPG-ish feel to it with the hero system that makes the game truly shine.

Company of Heroes

You don't exactly have villagers chopping down wood, or mining iron in the middle of a battlefield to make Tiger Tanks, instead you're fighting over resource points, like fuel depots, or munition dumps. There is some minor base building, but most static structures are defences, and obstacles.

As for the gameplay itself, it doesn't get much better than CoH though.

i also found command and conquer to be of my likings however another title to NEVER skip if you can find it is lords of the realm 3
