[QUOTE="daytona_178"]get the Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer, Its by far the best value for money and sounds AMAZING!domke13
Creative is a POS if u ask me. Especially their driver support, not to mention many of their cards use low quality capacitors.
Well only the old creative cards have bad driver support, i had an X-Fi Gamer a little while back and i had no driver problems at all.
I guess it's cool to be a rebel these days? Everyone is looking for their own identity...etc. (lame)
Don't be afraid to go with X-Fi Extreme gamer just because it isn't $280.00. I'd suggest looking at everything on the market, read about it and take a look at compatability.
The previously mentioned auzentech has compatability issues. Check out the reviews at newegg.
Soundblaster XFi xgamer is like $105 on newegg. I'm a musician and there's no way in hell I'd ever spend $250 on a soundcard for gaming purposes. If you want proof of the clarity etc. take a look at the sampling rates for both cards, they're the same. And as far as the capacitors are concerned...if you can really hear the difference in the capacitors then you're lightyears beyond any musician I've ever met. Because I can tell you right now on junky CPU speakers (yes they're all junk, BOSE, CREATIVE, ALTEC) you won't notice the difference. YOU MIGHT, notice the difference if you had a quad set of B&W 801's from the british recording studios in england. Otherwise what a freakin waste!

One more thing, if you do have a set of studio quality speakers, you sure as hell shouldn't be just PLUGGING them into your computer. Those coaxial ports should first be pre-amped then to amp then to speakers. So yeah, you're looking at $10k or so. I'd also make sure my computer was stable as hell, voltage etc. before hooking up to speakers, one "POP" or "CRACKLE" and there goes those nice expensive tweets and woofs.
X-Fi Xtreme music, if you can find it.Jamiemydearx3
The Xtreme gamer is just as good and costs a lot less!
THanks for all your help. I at least have somewhere to start research...
I really had no idea on where to begin initially.
