well, putting aside the question of should for a moment, i'd like to ask will - will they make red alert 3? the answer is, barring a giant zombie chicken that eats most of america, a resounding yes... probably... maybe...

as for should, mmmmmmmmaybe - red alert 2 is the one c&c game i actually like, and besides some ginormous balance issues with yuri, i don't really see how the game could be improved upon - and i sure as hell don't see a need to spend £25 on red alert 2 running in the c&c3 engine (which, unless i'm mistaken, is just the bmfe2 engine which is the bfme engine which is a modified generals engine, which is damn old and hardly an improvement over ra2's lovliness anyway) with about three extra units... and a secondary firing mode...

there is a huge demographic for don't give us better, just give us more, and i'm sure they will all want red alert 3 - and that's fair enough, because if anything, ea's c&c studio at least understands what makes the c&c games tick, and can keep putting out the goods... but the fact is, the next c&c will still be just a slightly different version of the previous c&c- it will be behind the curve on the ever improving standards for the genre in just about all ways

except one - pure fun... but let's be honest, how many people play rts games for fun these days? dps charts, high end micro requirements and minute balanceare way more important -whatever- i say bring it on, we're gonna get command and conquer 2008 (featuring tiger woods) anyway, may as well make it a red alert game

I think they should find a way to make Red alert 3 a C&C3 expansion by making both of the two seperate world one...it would be interesting

They need to make Red Alert 3 in order to connect the dots between C&C and the original Red Alert.

Yeah, I think a new Red Alert game is highly likely to come out after EA is done with the current Tiberium Wars storyline. Of course, nobody knows how long that storyline is. Expect a year or two.

They need to bring back Westwood. Ever since EA took control there has been something missing in the games. I liked Generals but it wasn't nearly as good as the previous ones and Tiberium Wars was pretty much the same. They need something to live up to Red Alert, classic game.

They shouldn't make Red Alert 3 because the Red Alert series were based on the Svoiets and well, the Soviets are dead. As we seen in Red Alert 2 the invasion is expelled, the vladimir is captured, and everyone's happy. Besides, there are plenty of other great RTS games to look forward in this year.
