red faction 3 has been confirmed. LINK

THQ haven't said what consoles it will be on, or even if it will actually be on PC. But going by the first two games in the series i would imagine it will be on PC, PS3 and 360.

Wow good news. I never played RF2, but the first game was really fun. I never understood why their deformable environments never were implemented in any other games. When I first played it I thought it was revolutionary, and thought it would soon become the standard in most FPS.

Dont have the key? Thats fine...BLOW UP THE WALL!!!

The first game was fantastic but the second was awful. Here's hoping that the third one is better than the second.

For me its the other way around. I hated the first game, but thought number 2 was excellent.

But, yeh, i really hope #3 is a great game.

i thought they were both good in there own way.  rf 1 was rrevolutionary with its geomod ngine. how nearly all walls were destroyable. made it posible to make taps for the bots.

rf2 was good cause they limited the things that were destroyable so you could make tunnels etc so you focused on the game more.

Hahah ya, and remember the "tech demo" where there was the building made up of glass and you had unlimited bomb charges?  That was sweet, I dug a tunnel like 200 feet deep then jumped in.  And the drill vehicles...Total Recall anyone!?

Seems I'm in the same boat as some of the others that already posted. Played and enjoyed the first game, but never got around to playing the second. I'd look forward to playing a third entry in the series, but can the devs at Volition create something more than a one trick pony? With Crysis and its own destructible environments coming, can a new Red Faction compete?

I found the first one had so much more in the form of destoyable walls and floors, which made it amazing.  Nothing is more fun than sneaking up on the enemy flag by making a tunnel.  It added so much variety.  The second one was better as far as weapons options, but it lacked so much tunneling ad crater fun that made me like the first one.

So if they combine the best of both, and add some graphics enhancements they should make one of the best shooters ever.

RF1 was awesome. RF2 was boring. I hope RF3 will be on PC with quite low system requirements.

i bet made for 360, ported to PC and then a later release for the PS3. Thats how everythign will seem to go. I mean the 360 is the easiest game development kit out there.

I had high hopes until you mentioned console. That's what ruined the second game.
