refresh rate & new monitor

hi all i have a starnge problem ..i have evga 8800gts g92 ..i had a 17 inch lcd monitor and i decided to upgrade to buy a new ACER 19 inch monitor wide screen ..the problem is since i got it i cant decide which monitor refresh rate to be on as every refresh rate i put my monitor on i find things hazy and blurry ..i am now on 60HZ ?? and what about games ?? i find them not as before ?? as i was always putting my screen and games on 72 HZ with my old monitor ??? shall i put the games on the same refresh rate as the monitor ?? also colours is not as vivid as before ?? i baught the ACER monitor after good customer review on newegg ..can any one help ...i play games now on 1440+900 and my monitor is on 1280+720 ..thnx in advance

Well, not all games are built for wide screen. Also, in general you should run your monitor at both stock resolution and refresh-rate. Here's a site that you will find useful:

The refresh rate in not important at LCD while on CRT it is very important. On LCD the refresh rate is usualy locked at 60

Refresh rates don't matter on wide-screen. As for the colors I don't know, you could check the control center for your graphic card.
