The reviews I've read for this version seemed to have particular problems - blurry cut-scenes, a complete lack of mouse support, and the relative awkwardness of the button placement for the context-sensitive scenes.  My question is, how much of this could be fixed by a mod?

videos - not a chance...

the button placement is good if you use a game pad...

and there is already a mouse aiming mod, i use it, fantastic.

actually someone ripped high resolution cutscenes from the ps2 copy and theres a torrent where you can download and install them.  They are linked in RE4 PC forum.

As for the controls, you really need a controller to enjoy this game.  There is keyboard support and a mouse mod but when they ported this they expected to you to use a controller.

If you plan on buying it... then don't.

If you plan to download it, then go ahead and look for all those files in the RE4 Forum.

i think it's very much worth buying. atleast if you have a gamepad. supports xbox360 controller on PC by the way. personally i didn't buy it, cos i played it through three times when i had gamecube, but i think the PC version is just as good as the gamecube version, only if you have a gamepad.

edit: and let's not forget about the patch that improves the game visually

Videos have been fixed,  buttons fix, and mouseaim has all been fixed, but I still reccomend using a gamepad.
