Here something to make you forget the overpriced, overrated garbage cod:mw2 and talk about an independant game

Apparantly, it was a huge success. They posted some stats on their blog

It was funny and somewhat ironic on the poll :

"Im a cheap bastard and im proud of it -- 11.0% - 250 votes."

real cheap bastards pirated the games and didnt pay anything to 2D boys.

Avg of about $2.50 per copy for 83,250 copies.

$208,125.00 (USD).

since this was all digital copies, I can assume that those money became pure profits for 2D Boys.

I truly bid fruitful future for 2D boys and become more succesful than any other publisher/devlopers. I hope other gamers support this "Pay What you want" method.

I think that is not way off. This is how I calculated with graphs and data they provided.

Total Copies sold during this birthday sales: 83,250.

Donation per person:

Day 1: $1.60

Day 2: $1.90

Day 3: $2.15

Day 4: $2.20

Day 5: $2.55

Day 6:$2.48

Day 7: $2.35

Day 8: $2.50

Day 9: $3.30 (I guess this is the day when those generous Switzerland and French folks noticed this sale.)

Day 10: $3.10

Day 11: $2.85

Day 12: $3.30

Total Days :12

Average Income: $30.28 / 12 = $2.53 per person.

Total Profit: (Average Income) * Total Number of Donator = $2.53 * 83250 = $210,067.50 (USD).

Possibly 2D Boys might had the best birthday party with this money.

the poll result at the end of page is really funny.

"I've played the game and never paid for it. took this opportunity to go legit -- 7.8% -- 170 votes."

didnt know that some pirates do have a bit of conscious.

That is good to hear, well deserved, I told this to many others who actually wanted to pay more than what they did after playing it. Kinda spewing since I bought it for retail price on release, but no regrets because the game was brilliant.

Haha, great to see Switzerland on top of the generosity chart. Unfortunately, I did not contribute to this result, I have already bought the game on launch.

I've read somewhere that they made much more money doing this than they would have by charging full price on a usual week. Interesting way for up and coming companies to make money. Radiohead and 2d Boy should meet up together, finesse this strategy.
