rig for a friend

hello all

well my friend wants me to build him a rig which ill do no problem but hes been rather indecisive,

im thinking maybe e8400 or q6600 and maybe a gigabyte mobo but idk im rather stumped here for him as his needs are purely gaming and surfing the web

any suggestions?

his budget is $900 max

he has a 17" flat panel
