I'll be moving out of my parents house in about a year now, and when I do I know I'm going to be doing a lot more PC gaming because my parents are the "we need a computer for the internet and that's it" type of people, and I'm stuck with a Stone Age computer. So right when I move out, I want a great PC that can play all the newest games. I'm looking forward to playing Starcraft II, EVE, Alpha Protocol, and things like that. So... Where should I start?
It really depends on how much you're spending. A decent graphics card is at the core of a good gaming system, so if you can get something decent (Radeon 5870, for example), make sure you do. Intel processors will give you a teeny bit more ooomph (technical term) than AMD, but AMD are much cheaper and will be easier to upgrade in the future (965 x4, I think. I'm no expert on AMD).
Between 4 and 6 GB of RAM is ideal, and make sure you get 64 bit Windows to get the most from it. Back it up with a 6-700W PSU, a 7200rpm or better HDD and the DVD drive of your choice and you're almost there.

Way to soon to be asking this. Bigger and better stuff will be out a year from now
