Don't get the Ultra. What size of monitor are you going to be using? If it's large, get the 88 GTX, otherwise the 98GTX should be fine.

How much is that Q9550? Usually the chips in the Extreme line are severely overpriced, with the only benefit being an unlocked multiplier. I'd get 4GB of RAM in dual channel and get Vista 64-bit.

Do you mean a 400watt PSU? If so, that is likely not enough for the GTX.

I agree with him except if you are getting different prices. For the PSU, if you have strong psu such as CorsairHX then 420w would be fine but i would still get alt least 500w anyway.

FYI... that Q9500 isn't under the "Extreme" line.

I'd get the Q9450 for £234. It's only .17Ghz slower (2.83 vs 2.66) than the Q9550 for much less money. You could really easily OC it up to the Q9550 speed, and you just saved yourself £127!

Because you've got a 19" monitor, go for the 9800GTX.

Also, I'd get this PSU.

I don't have any personal experience with either, but I've heard you should go with the 780 so you aren't forced to get DDR3.

For the mobos, you need to decide if you are going with DDR2 or DDR3..
DDR3 : 790i Ultra SLI
DDR2 : 780i or P35 if you arent going to run SLI anytime
